Michael Jackson Commemorative Postage Stamps The stamp collecting world mourns the passing of pop icon and music legend, Michael Jackson. Jackson, 50, died of cardiac arrest at his home in West Los Angeles. Jackson has appeared on the stamps of many countries around the world and was a popular topical subject. In her book, Michael Jackson (1993), author Lisa D. Campbell writes,"In the spring of 1986, the British Virgin Islands announced plans to release postage stamps featuring Michael Jackson. Shortly before their release, in fact after a few hundred sets were already printed, the stamps were canceled due to regulations stating that stamps bearing the likeness of living persons must be members of the the Royal Family, not the Jackson family. Pictures Of Stamps Bryan Adam With numerous hit singles, a Grammy Award, Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, and an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame to his credit, Bryan Adams may have earned the ultimate tribute from his native Canada: a postage stamp. The rock singer joins three other musicians -- Stompin' Tom Connors, Edith Butler and Robert Charlebois -- as part of the Canadian Recording Artists stamp series. The set of four stamps will be officially released on July 2. Adams, who is also a professional photographer, has another connection with stamps.
